History of EAPA
The first State Chapter was inaugurated in 1986 as the Association of Labor and Management, Administrators and Consultants on Alcoholism (ALMACA).
The membership consisted of business and labor leaders and area treatment providers.
The initial members included DuPont, Westinghouse Electric, Local 107, Chrysler, General Motors, Hercules, University of Delaware, Hiddenbrook, Bowling Green, Public Service Electric and Gas and the Delaware Council on Alcoholism.
The first President of the Delaware Chapter was Lloyd Reynolds with PSE&G, and the Vice President was Jack Gardner with the DuPont Company.
In 1989 ALMACA formally unveiled the new name EAPA.
The first State Chapter of EAPA has a membership of 35 National and Associated members and meets the fourth Wednesday of every month and we celebrate our anniversary every year with our annual banquet.
The First State EAPA Chapter is a proud member of National EAPA and looks forward to the future and to continue to help those employees suffering from addiction and other personal problems that affect their lives and job performance.
